TrailScout is built to be honest, and that includes how it treats your data. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell it, and the only thing we ask for is an email — and only if you want the newsletter.

What we collect

• Your email address — only if you subscribe. The newsletter is run by beehiiv, which stores and sends it on our behalf. See beehiiv's privacy policy. Don't subscribe and we never have your email.
• Basic signup analytics. When you subscribe, we record which page and source the signup came from, so we know what's useful. It's tied to the subscription, not to a profile of you.
• Preferences stored in your browser. The map remembers small settings (like text size) using your browser's local storage. That stays on your device — we never see it.

What we don't do

• We don't sell, rent, or trade your data.
• We don't share your email with anyone except beehiiv, to deliver the newsletter you asked for.
• We don't run third-party advertising or cross-site ad-tracking networks.
